Raze Capital is led by Mark C. Updegraff, a Rochester entrepreneur whose path from imaging science to real estate shaped a distinctly evidence-based operating style.
Mark C. Updegraff
From imaging science to real estate operations.
Mark moved to Rochester in 1997 to study Imaging and Photographic Technology at Rochester Institute of Technology. His early work included cooperative assignments with NASA and Pictometry, followed by imaging-science work at Kodak, RIT, and ITT.
He began investing in real estate while working in technology and moved into real estate full time in 2010. Since then, he has led businesses spanning ownership, redevelopment, brokerage, property management, and private real estate investing.
That combination—technical analysis and day-to-day operating experience—continues to shape how Raze Capital evaluates risk, execution, and long-term value.
